John S. Edelen, MD, FACC
Dr. Edelen is Chief of Cardiology at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and is on the faculty at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center-Berkeley combined program. Patients benefit from many of the innovative quality assurance programs that he has helped to establish at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. Dr. Edelen is Board-certified in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology. |
Michael Tsang, MD, FACC
Dr. Tsang is a non-invasive cardiologist with special interest and expertise in echocardiography. He is the project leader for Berkeley Cardiovascular Medical Group's EHR implementation. He received his medical education at Tufts University in Boston, and subsequently underwent residency and fellowship training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Medical Center respectively. He is Board-certified in cardiovascular diseases and echocardiography, and he serves as Director of the Non-invasive Cardiology Laboratory at the Ashby campus of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. His professional interests include clinical research and HIT. |
Samuel Wang, MD, FACC
Dr. Wang specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, including device therapy, and ablation for supraventricular tachycardias and atrial fibrillation. He received his bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Harvard University, a master's degree in Computer Science from Yale University, and his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. After internship and residency in internal medicine at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, he returned to California for a cardiology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, and a cardiac arrhythmia fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. He is Board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He served on the faculty at the University of California Davis Medical Center as the Co-Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology Service, Director of the Pacemaker Clinic, and Chair of the Cardiovascular Medicine Clinical Quality Improvement Committee.

Sandra Washington
Ms. Washington has been the Operations Manager for BCVMG for nine years. She received her bachelor's degree in health services administration from St. Mary's College in Moraga, California and has a certificate in medical assisting and Phlebotomy. She is also NextGen-certified in EPM and is the project manager for BCVMG's EHR implementation. Ms. Washington has served in the East Bay's healthcare community for over 25 years. She is active in the Contra Costa County community, serving as guidance supervisor for adolescents and teenagers. |
